Last time there was a total lunar eclipse on the winter solstice was about
372 years ago. I remember that one :wink

Clouds threaten

A bit wider view
Wider yet. Left of Taurus... Below Auriga... Right of Gemini... Above Orion All buddies together in the heavens. No place like home

having an idea of whats up there and where. Did some dodging and
burning to get "clouds threaten" to come out half decent for look and
appeal. Couldn't do a thing about the green cast so I left it be. I was
pleased to get the result I was shooting for. Hell, I was pleased to get
anything I was certain it was going to be overcast for us as it was for
the Leonids meteor shower peak night :cry
spotted the full moon in a half clear night sky and wondered what day it was. I got busy then. Was really nice to have the chance to see this
eclipse let alone try for pictures. What was further cool was where in the
sky the event was taking place. Perfect positioning in some of my favorite constellations.
Very nicely done, all your hard work and loss of sleep
really paid off.
Merry Christmas to You and Yours

Hey Craig Thanks for saying.
Couldn't say about it being hard work though I was pushing the lack of rest
thing pretty hard since I just had to edit, start PP and prove things out for what
few things I threw at it off the cuff so's to say. I shut down around 3am I think.
Started back up some earlier than I wanted to.
But then you know the score there, I do believe.
Appreciate the kind note about the holidays. Very nice of you to say.
Our best to you and yours over the coming holidays and of course always.

Kitty quit waiting on me to come in for the night. Too warm for her I guess
where as I wasn't too warm at the time. Got over that quick enough.
Have to say I came away pleased to get them just like that. They seem to
have a 3D quality on the page. Not something I pick out often in most shots
I've taken of the moon as it normally comes off. Maybe the 3D thing is just
me and these eyes of mine. For sure not what they used to be
I don't know how I missed this post for so long. As I've said on other posts, I'm thrilled to see you roaming around again. You obviously haven't forgotten how to click a shutter, so let's see more soon.
Take care my friend,
Tom
