Yeah, Santa put a new D300S under my tree....and told me to open it early. I went down to the Riverwalk for a few test shots to try it out, and then took a couple shots of the cats at home. Nothing special to these (though I do like the shot of Abbey) but I am surely glad to see how clear they are. The better AF (51 point) and the faster burst (7fps) were both what I'd hoped for. I'll post more soon.

Told my hubby you were able to open your gift early .. he just said "is that so" with a smile on his face. Looks like I have to wait to see what Santa brought me :cry

I get to wait for what Santa may be thinking of for me Surely I have been
good enough this year unlike last
So - when you come east next time we WILL have to go shooting together for sure so I can admire the toy.
Have fun ramping up the shots.
Merry Christmas!

Looks like you're catching on to the 300s just fine. The Easter Bunny brought my 300s last spring.

Denise, yes the D300S is what I had in mind when we talked. I debated switching to FF with the D700 but decided against it.
For those of you who shoot with the D300, please pass on any tips and lessons learned.....
