Making a "Copy" of an Image

Want to ask this question first, before I embark on a large amount of re-organization, only to find that smugmug is again very peculiar and awkward.

If I make a "copy" of a lot of images, and then move them to a new album, is it possible to surpass the 1000 picture limit that is imposed on albums containing "collected" images.

i.e. is there a difference between a "copied" and "collected" image in this regard, or are they both subjected to the same inexplicable 1000 photos-in-album limit?

The copied images will go to the collected gallery just fine, you just can only 'collect' 1000 images in a smart gallery. But you can upload or copy more into that same gallery.
