In the Beginning

I found this set of rocks on the Atlantic coast while scouting the other day and have gone back to them a few times trying to figure out the best way to shoot them. I like the leading line it creates, and I thought maybe a long exposure at moonrise would best convey the mystic feeling I was after. This was shot f/11, ISO 1000, 3 min exposure at moonrise. Love the composition with the tapering stones joining up with the sunlight as your eyes go towards the horizon.Beautifull done.

Very cool, great comp and I love the moon reflection, cloud motion and little star specks. My only nit would be that the foreground is just a little soft.

Thanks, Ron. The rocks are sharp, the downsized jpg really makes them look soft. Here is a version that was sharpened for the web.

Yes, very nicely done! I like the stars, but prefer the image without the star streaks.
