Howdy Ya'll

New member, found this sight through ADV rider and have since been on all day, figured I should sign up.

Anyways I've been into photography for my whole life (25 years), I don't know anything about it, never taken any classes but my late father worked for the local paper so that is where the bug came from.

Anyways here are some of my favorite macro shots, C&C away as like I say I pretty much just hit buttons and dials until i get something which approximates what I want. I'm a rule breaker at heart so when i was a kid and people said to shoot with the sun at your back I spent the next year shooting straight into the sun... you get the idea, that is how a lot of my shots are, not "correct"...

Flame on or ignore or do whatever it is ya'll do around here I'll learn soon enough. If these aren't considered macro, then shit, mods please move if appropriate.

Hi James and welcome to Dgrin . I think the usual definition of a macro shot is that the subject must be at least as large in the frame as it is in reality. Often it is a lot larger--either that or Brian has some pretty scary insects in his garden .

Anyway, don't worry about the categories, just keep shooting. The first one doesn't really grab me, but I really like the textures in #2 and the color in #3 and #4.
