Hooded Merganser - Retention Pond Ducks

Hooded Mergansers are in the Viera Wetlands, but they tend to stay far away from the shore, and photographing them there is very difficult. As luck would have it, about 2 miles from my house is a hotel that has two small retention ponds not any wider then 50'. Hooded Mergansers every year frequent those ponds allowing me to get a few shots. Here are a few I took today.......

    Nice captures Ira, I thought that these birds headed north for the colder climate in the winter? Did not think that they would be that far south at this time of the year.
