there's quality/skill level but also just what you do shoot and WHAT you want to shoot? different lenses in different lighting situations can be recommended.

So, landscapes? sports? indoor? outdoors? street shooting? candids? following your kids around?

That'll definitely help a lot in recommendations :) the more people here know, the better we'll be able to suggest and the more good advice you'll get.

ALSO, price range you are looking for??

and. do you USE the macro on your Sigma?

    :)

I suggest upgrading lenses first. Nothing in your galleries strikes me as needing a new camera but better optics are always a benefit, regardless the body.

For what I see in the galleries I would suggest that you ultimately could use a 3 - lens set of lenses:
    1. Super-wide angle zoom
    2. Fast, Standard/normal zoom
    3. Telephoto zoom

I suggest starting with the fast aperture, standard/normal zoom lens. For Canon crop 1.6x cameras the very best overall choice is the Canon EF-S 17-55mm, f2.8 IS USM. This lens will get you a relatively fast aperture, allowing faster and more accurate focus, as well as a general increase in sharpness and usable IS allowing lower light imagery without a tripod.

It's also suitable for many types of portraits and group interactions. It's almost a perfect "event" lens. I also use it for some scenics and landscapes as well as some architectural applications.

It is also very expensive so if it's too expensive consider the Tamron 17-50mm, f2.8 XR Di-II LD SP ZL Aspherical (IF). While the Tamron lacks IS it is very competent and similar in most other ways.

Then consider a super-wide-angle zoom for those landscapes and architectural opportunities. I wound up choosing the Sigma 10-20mm, f4-5.6 EX DC for my needs but there are honestly a large selection to choose from.

The final lens to consider is a high-quality zoom telephoto. Starting with the Canon 70-200mm "L" zooms you can get a significant quality improvement over your Sigma 70-300mm consumer zoom. Also consider the Canon EF 100-400mm, f4.5-5.6L IS USM for a bit more reach over what you have.

thanx, that helped me a lot. i've checked out the lenses u recommended n phew...with the exchange rate of our currency 12.75 for a dollar, its pretty expensive. but definitely i will invest in those three lenses, specially the super wide canon lens.
