Telephotos can be used for birding, animals, sports, etc. Depending on the type (birds vs. deer, etc), different needs are a factor. What sort of situations will you be working in? bright sun, dusk, etc?

looking over your list, which is all over the spectrum of focal lengths, personally I would go Sigma and get either the 17-70 f2.8-4 and the 70-200f2.8.....i do not live with Vibration control built in...so I opt to save a bit on lenses and use a tripod or something I can lean against to stabilize my shots....I came up using film cams and lenses so there wasn't any stabilization and I had to learn to shoot with arms tucked in or find another way to stabilize the shot......I still shot off a tripod or mono pod a lot, I also have used Sigma for over 30 yrs and really like there lenses....Good Luck

the 2 lenses listed give the range for shooting portraits, landscape and some wildlife...............so you can shoot most anything and have relatively fast glass.........
