is the canon mt-24ex necessary?

I was thinking of getting a canon mpe-65 lens. I just want to ask if i need the mt-24ex flash really needed or could i just use my 580exII? :D
Canon 7D, 450D, 50mm 1.8, 50mm 1.2, Mp-e 65mm, 70-200mm f/2.8L USM, 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM, Canon 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM, 580exII, some sigma lenses:D

    The Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite Flash is a very expensive accessory but it does make setting flash ratios relatively easy and it keeps the flash in a pretty good position for the exposure. Many folks make their own flash bracket and use DIY diffusers and custom reflectors and such, and they achieve perfectly wonderful macro images without the MT-24EX Twin Lite. I don't believe that our Lord Vetinari has the MT-24EX Twin Lite and he is a published macro photographer and he regularly produces stunningly great macro images. thumb.gifthumbclap.gif
