Password on category/subcategory?

Hi,

Is it possible or will it be implemented?

I would like to have that option because I don't want my categories/subcategories to be "open" for everybody as they are now. If I have a "private" category I want only to show the subcategories but they should not be accessible unless the correct password is gives. I can get the effect with only galleries at the next level but then I "loose" a level.

So I would like to have password options on all levels if possible.

The feature doesn't exist. It has been widely request, but we've never seen any inkling that it's being worked on.

Possible work-arounds are sharegroups or events. Sharegroups allow you to group various galleries together into a "private" category that isn't shown on your homepage, but groups things together like a category. You can share the link to the private grouping with just those who you want to see it. You can read about events. I haven't really figured out what they're best used for, but they can have a password and contain galleries.
