Virgin River Utah

My humble picture of the Virgin River south of Zion NP. I'm trying out the trial version of Lightroom 3. This is my first go at software so go easy on me. Any suggestions would be much appreciated though.

I think there's too much sky. I would have cropped or zoomed in more to eliminate some of the sky.

I tend to put a lot of sky in my pictures. Less sky in this crop. I need to get a smugmug account.....attaching a picture seems to destroy the detail from the original.

Like the cropped version best. I'm wondering how a square crop would look, as I roll up from the bottom it looks pretty good. the dry land area in the lower right corner really does not add to the composition If you have CS5 you could probably content aware this section.

I think the last comp is the best. What's hurting more than comp though is the light, IMO. It's midday, very harsh, as it's not doing the awesome landscape any favors.

If you've got a dark ND filter, it may have helped to slow the shutter speed down and get some softness in the river. I think shallow moving water like this has some great possibilities there.
