Never realized the local zoo (Boston) was open in the winter.

One of my unexpected favorite shots was the odd pairing of a camel with a 'snow moustache' :rofl

I've never heard the lion so boisterous, in between naps of course...

love the cat shots, wish the tiger pics weren't cropped so tight, the lion is excellent, great detail in all the pics though!

I had a 400mm prime on the camera and the tiger was too darned close. It was a terrible problem! :D

    Glad you enjoyed them, thanks!

I love the detail on the first tiger shot, just gorgeous. I think it looks great cropped in tight, not a problem at all. :D

The tightness of the tiger shots is okay....to me, the upper eyelid hiding the pupil keeps it from having the impact that I would think one would want on such a tight shot.

The camel, on the otherhand, is quite interesting. A camel in the snow! :D

I think the tiger shots are special. Don't think of them as animal portraits. Think of them as abstracts and enjoy them without worrying about the small things.

Thanks all, glad you enjoyed them!

I went to the zoo that day expecting to see just the indoor smaller animals. It was a real (strange) treat to see some of the big animals as well. Glad I lugged the whole lens bag along...
