Wide Angle and Fisheye

I shoot sports year round. Most frequently football, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, and softball. I have a couple of great zoom lenses - nikon 300mm 2.8 and 70-200mm 2.8.

Now I am looking into getting a lens that can give some of my shots a unique look or feel... Any ideas/suggestions?
I see some awesome looking shots of team celebrations that look like they may have been taken with a wide angle or fisheye... I am currently looking at a Nikon 10.5 fisheye, anybody have experience using this within the world of sports? I also shoot portraiture.

Thank you for your time!

I wouldn't pin it on a lens but rather on a look or feel that you want to achieve.

A WA lens wants to be used close up in most instances but can really give you that look into a circle of players or used close up style.

I recently bought the lens you are mentioning here, so I thought I would post a few shots so you can see what it would look like. I hope you don't mind. Just from what I have seen so far, it is sharp, bright, and I can use it in a variety of situations. I love fisheye sports shots, and really am happy with this. Hope this helps thumb.gif

Wide is always cool, but is limited in it use. I have both a 10.5mm fisheye and 14-24 f2.8, but take both out of the bag less frequently than any other lens. I love them both, but they're really luxury items.

it's not the size of the lens that matters... It's how you focus it.

I can't post some shots now, but i used my fisheye Canon 15mm on one match [World Cup for clubs in Abu Dhabi], the shots were really nice, i used this lens maybe twice or not many times at all, used it in USA 2009 during my vacation there.
I am looking to buy the new canon fisheye, if i can then maybe i will sell my both fisheye lenses, Sigma 8mm and Canon 15mm.

Thanks for posting! The images look great! I think the fisheye does some really great exaggerated effects that I love. I just think it would be awesome to get some images that stand out from the competition in my area and these lenses seem like they might be a nice way to do it. Maybe they won't be my top sales, but I would hope they would draw more attention/interest. Had anybody gotten feedback from buyers..?
