Winter River

I drove by this section of the East Fork of the Hood River several days in a row going between Hood River and Mt Hood earlier this week. I loved the snow covered rocks and knew that I wanted to try to get some shots of it. Unfortunately, we were slammed by snow, rain, wind the first half of the week but finally had clear skies on Thursday. On the way home from skiing, I stopped to put on the snowshoes and venture down to the river (an adventure in itself). I didn't have a lot of time as I left the family in the van and they got impatient after about 15 minutes.

I don't do a lot of landscapes so any comments (good and bad) and suggestions would be appreciated.

I like your last image the best and the reason is, you have simplified the composition somewhat. Trying to get too much into the image even though it looks beautiful to the eye is very difficult to do. Not sure what lens you were using but I would have moved even closer and lower into the scene. were it not winter I would also suggest the best way to improved these shots would be to climb into the river and get close, as it really adds drama. What a beautiful setting though.
