I am now possessed by EVIL (Electronic Viewer, Interchangeable Lenses). Day one with the Panasonic GF1 (small, mirror-less, 4-3rds camera) ... first impressions is that it is a great little camera. Best of all the camera is fun. The big cameras deliver wonderful quality and impressive performance ...but, (the big but), they're not really fun to use (the exception being the sound of the D1 ripping through multiple frames a second).

This little guy is just fun to use and delivers a nice IQ.

These images are my first with Aperture also ... so I'm really low on the learning curve with both camera and processing.

Wow! Amazing what a small camera can do in the hands of a skilled photographer. Well done, Gary! thumb.gifthumbthumb.gif
Sitting quietly, doing nothing. Spring comes and the grass grows by itself.

Thanks Jeepr ... it is a sweet little camera .... it was so cold that morning that the bird baths froze and little birds were skidding across the surface wondering "What the heck ...".

    What a cutie of a dog iloveyou.gif

Love #3 -- my dog would never make it through the tunnel. She would have way to many things to sniff.

Wonderful photos of a dog doing what it loves to do best -- be with it's master enjoying the day.

    :D
I've been wanting to see pictures from and EVIL.... I would like to get a lighter and smaller camera to take along when I'm out and about. Your images make me think that is the way to go........thumb.gifgary

Yep ... we keep her in a "puppy" cut due to the SoCal temp, she easier to maintain and you can see her very expressive Wheaten eyes as opposed to the traditional Wheaten cut. She's the best dog/friend I've ever had.

    Hey Gary,

I'm very pleased with the camera. The manual controls are very easy to manipulate ... no menus to flip through ... all are buttons or dial on the camera body. Shoots RAW (RW2) with a 2x crop factor. Panasonic now has a GF2, which has menu driven controls ... it is a camera designed for the P&S group that wants to move up to interchangeable lenses as opposed to the GF! which is designed for the SLR photographer who wants a smaller camera.

I'm using the 20mm f/1.7 which is very sharp.

    Good Luck and Good Shooting,
    Gary
