When I spoke to the reception clerk at the hotel, I asked for a room with a view. This is the view which I received from my hotel room. It turned out to be a nice pattern of light and shadow. The vacationers also added a nice touch to the frame, in my opinion.

    Hi Michal,

Another interesting photograph. i have to respectfully disagree about the vacationers adding to the picture. In my opinion it woudl be a perfect abstract without any people in it. It is still a neat photo. Thnxs for sharing.

That is a shot I really, really like!

Looks like something Bresson would do, or someone famous, I really like it!

I too like the vacationers. The people actually make the capture a living or alive abstarct and not just another staged abstract.

    IMHO

That sounds like a cool idea--Unfortunatley--I have long gone--but that is a great idea for future shots.

    Thanks.

I like this photo a lot! I think the vacationers add a different meaning to the shot. I think the picture would still be good without them but it would be more of an abstract. I think this is one of those cases where it all depends on what message you are trying to convey with the shot.

    Good job!

Needless to say, i also think it's a fabulous shot.

As for the people or no people deal, I personally would have preferred no people. But I would translate this image as humans causing incongruity with the beautiful harmony between the symetry and pattern. And while some of beauty is courtesy of mother-nature (i.e. shadows), the others are the man-made (i.e. umbrellas). So while man makes works of art on this planet, he can also induce unrest in nature.

Probably read too much into it but hey, it makes the picture work for me :D

I am glad this photo could evoke such a philosphical point of view on your part. I found your analysis extremely interesting.
