DSS 67 three ideas

I have three very divergent ideas. Two I have begun to play with. The third requires someone to throw a baseball through my kitchen window, so I'm passing on that one right now.

Here are a few shots from a still life and light play with clear glass marbles on colored paper.

Are any of these working for you?

C&C please... I'm feeling a little creatively sparse these days.

Thanks.... Chris

Nice still life in #1. I'm not sure what it needs, but it does not wow me.

The marbles are cool. I like #4 best, but maybe a little darker in the BG to make them pop more.

WhatSheSaw--- I agree. The Dutch Masters are rolling over in their graves at the first one!

I'll wake up fresh and full of crisp ideas tomorrow!

    Thanks for your comments.

All are very nice, but I really like #4. It also conveys glass to me the most of all of them. The touches of color are there, but there is more of the original light source showing through. Great idea!

I like #2 and #4 Chris. But neither knock my socks off.
Although I've seen it a couple of times before, but have you considered a perspective that would allow you to shoot at a level allowing the balls to transmit a subject from the other side similar to a lens. Similar to how photos will shoot a water droplet, with the the image of a branch in the background transmitted thru it... Not sure if that wording makes sense. Go here for an example of the technique

I like #5 with the light pattern. I like the baseball idea too!

I also am drawn to the light pattern in 5. The others are all very well done too.
I thought the dutch masters comment very funny - and apropos! That could be any still life from the 1600s!

I think they are all really good, but my favorites are #4 and #5. Really cool!

The baubles sure are fun! I think for me, #4 is the most illustrative of the subject "glass." However, #5 is more snappy!

I like #4 best. Not sure, though, that I like the differing colors underneath...maybe try just one color for the bottom.

#5 got my attention first because of the perfect circle. It just confused me.

I liek #4 a lot because the shadows, light, and color are really interesting.

    Thanks everyone for the replies.

I appreciate how everyone that commented, seemed to communicate the same sense of underwhelment that I was feeling about these 2 ideas. Honesty rocks!

I'm on to other ideas. I hope to get some posted tonight.

    Thanks, Chris
