IR-VIS comparison

I intentionally took this IR image because I thought it would be clearer than the visible image due to all the aerosol induced haze, but at the time I didn't think of doing a direct comparison, so this is rather poorly done with different crops of different focal lengths and from slightly different positions- but it does make me want to make a similar series with a better set up. I thought it was neat as a first concept though. Maybe someone has done similar?
Visible image, middle of the afternoon- pretty hazy day.
reflected infrared shot- cuts right through the haze. Unfortunately, the cloud is confusing the shape of the reservoir- would have been better to wait a bit until the clouds moved.
And a direct comparison- would probably work better as a video clip rather than in indexed color animated gif, but the gif was easy to make. As much as the images are dumbed down, you can see that the infrared image recovers the horizon that is lost in the haze in the visible image.

That turned out very neat, was interesting to see
how the IR cut the Haze.
Very Nicely Done.
