Our Ops guys are working on a site issue folks, so we're in Read Only mode while they do that. Stay tuned.

Yes, I'm trying to update http://status.smugmug.com but I have a permissions issue I'm fighting :uhoh

I am a recent customer of yours. I love tech
nology (software) and photography. I was frustrated with other site photo management sites. None of get it nor care to get it. When I accidently ran into your site, I was shocked. I thought to myself: someone in the company gets it!! and I can feel that you folks care!! If it wasn't for SmugMug, I would have started a company that is very close to what you have. In any case, I am your biggest sales guy! I already got you one customer. I was just showing your site to my father when the site ran into issues. Frustrating!!
Address the following and you will be perfect:
- In general, site is slow. (btw, I love the fact that you use html5. Finally someone takes the next step!!)
- When site is experiencing issues, update your status first! (before you even try to debug the problem). Site going down once in a while does not bug me. Not knowing that it's your side or my side is the frustrating part. If the status page reflects, I will come back later.
- Iphone App: I was confused when I downloaded your iPhone app (i.e. "huh? where are my galleries?!"). I get it now but I don't like it.

Let me know if I can be of any help in any way (i.e. beta tester, survey, etc.)

You really should update your status pages.

I just tried to log in and got the message
We're awfully sorry, but SmugMug is currently in read-only mode. Here's why:

"The Sorcerers of Smug are adding new magic right now, so we're in window shopping mode. We'll provide more updates here on our Status Page."
Adding new magic? Based on the earlier messages it sounds like an unscheduled down. Worse than that, when I clicked to the status page it shows the all aspects of the site as up.

If I can't log in doesn't that say the site is not entirely up?

Denise, thank you for posting. We're NOT adding new magic, we're fixing a problem. Sorry for the messaging fail. And we need to fix the access to the Status Board so that others can update it. Will do.

We care deeply (and spend $millions on) about speed. If you're not getting zippy delivery of photos and galleries, please write our Support Heroes with details so we can diagnose the issue. Thanks!

empty cart
I was in the midst of ordering when I realized I'd left an item out of my cart. I closed the window, and when I tried to open again to see if my order had gone through, the site was down for maintenance. Now, my cart is empty, and yet there's nothing in my email (including spam folder) indicating that my order has been placed. I've emailed smugmug about the problem, but I'm concerned the email support system may not be working, as I haven't gotten a copy of my email in my inbox, as usually happens when I email support. I'd like my items back in my cart, please! If the order HAS been placed, and can't be canceled, that's fine, but I need to know. If it hasn't been placed, I'd really like the items back in my cart.

Oh, and, here's my account: http://suephotos.smugmug.com/

I just emailed, using the link you provided. I haven't gotten one of those auto-confirm receipt emails I usually get right away.

From:

Hey Support Heroes,

I'm Susan, my site is http://suephotos.smugmug.com, and I'm using Firefox on Mac OS.

The question is:

I had a cart full of image orders this afternoon, pressed the button to complete the order, realized I'd left something out, then closed the window, hoping that the order hadn't yet gone through. Then, when I tried to log back in, the whole site had been closed down for maintenance. Now, I have nothing in my cart, and nothing indicating that an order was sent. I haven't received an email indicating that I placed an order (and I've checked my spam folder.) I hope I can have my cart restored, so I don't have to re-do the whole order from memory.

I attempted another email, immediately got the same message I copied to you above, that my email cannot be delivered to you.

Could you please help? I need to know whether or not my order went through earlier today, and if it can be canceled. If it didn't go through, or if it did and can be canceled, please put my items back in my cart. If all record of what I tried to order is gone for good, I'd like to know, so I can get to work on recreating the order.
