A Southern White Christmas

Not often we get a white Christmas down here in the south, but this year was special. We decided to do some late afternoon hiking up on the plateau at Greeter Falls in Altamont, TN. We left there with more snow coming down and ventured to Sewanee (The University of the South) to visit the cross and so I could do a little night photography. Nothing too special but thought I would share.

WOW- some great locations to shoot! The waterfall shots seem grainy to me. Not sure it that intended or just how they came out.

Love the first night shot with the cross. thumb.gif

Beautiful shots Jon. I particularly like the cross shot and the B&W church,

With the cross shot, if you'd stepped slightly to your left, could you have avoided cutting off the right arm and the base of the cross with the tree you used for framing? Just wondering.

PS: it really helps if you number your shots so people can comment on them more easily.

Thank you everyone for the comments and suggestions. :)

It was a fun afternoon/evening. Both places I have photographed extensively however I continue to revisit on a regular basis looking for new opportunities, unique lighting and changes in the seasons.
