FOUND a lens

70-200 f2.8 of the 650-1000 dollar variety...

would consider Sigma 70-200 EX DG HSM
or a slightly loved 70-200 f2.8 L

all others (tokina) I don't really consider contenders, and although the magic drain pipe is tempting I have recently read that photodo may have gotten a little rating happy on it's assesment.
