The Desert Museum has a free flight demo with trained Harris hawks. It was a good learning experience for me to attempt a few BIF (and not so BIF) shots.

Excellent shots, Brad, especially the first two in-flight ones. thumb.gif

    BTW, they're HARRIS hawks. mwink.gif

Oops, I'll correct that. Thanks. It was a good learning experience I enjoyed it.

OK I changed the thread title to Harris Hawks and I see the change in body of the thread and in my title when viewing the thread but it still says Farris in the thread title when viewed from the wildlife category view. How do I fix that? Thanks.

Nice shots, Brad! Uh, was that cactus a good place for #4 to land? Looked a little ouchy!

Actually they land on the Saguaros all the time. It take the young ones a bit to learn the trick but once mature they have no problem. They are also one of the few hawks that will pursue prey into prickly pear cactus. They learn how to avoid the needles. Very cool birds. bowdown.gif

    Beuller?............. Beuller?

I do not know how to fix it. Must be a moderator thing.
Great Shots of a beautiful Hawk. They do not get up to my parts. Closest we get is the Swainson Hawk

It's a good thing they weren't Swainson hawks or I probably would have called them Twainson hawks.:D
