I really like number 1 and that little triangle of people you have going with the child looking elsewhere and the toothy smile you captured on the accordion player.
The trumpet player looking at something other than the music or the photographer makes me want to know what he's gazing at. Great expression on his face implying a kind of non-presence in the musical moment. Cool.
At first I got a chuckle thinking the "Two street musicians" were both in this photo. The accordion player, joined by the little girl on vocals. I like how the girl seems to be responding to the music, the parent (?) is responding to the little girl, and the musician is responding to the parent. My eye is drawn from one to the other.
The trumpet player seems to have lost interest in playing. I see this a lot with street musicians in NYC when there is a large crowd and the tips are not good.
#2 depicts the ennui of the trumpet player well. I love the first with every person gazing at something different. My eyes want to play connect the dots with it.
Thanks Reid and rainbow. Neither one of these guys was a good musician, but the accordion guy managed to connect with people while the trumpeter didn't. Maybe he was just having a bad day, dunno.

Like them both! Busy surroundings don't take away from key subject.
