Okay, so I deep-sixed the earlier ideas. They didn't speak to me (or you!).

I've been working on some Valentine cards for a show and sale of my stuff that starts soon. Do any of these work for the theme?

C&C is always appreciated.

I love the idea of your combining the upcoming challenge of producing a product for a sale, with the challenge itself. Good for you and good luck.

Fun shots and a fun concept. I'm personally a fan of #1. I really like the brightness level at the top.
I really like the spilled looks as well, but something about the exposure bothers me. Of those, I like the pure whiteness of the background deep red richness of number 3 which could be caused by the underexposure. For me, I'd like that richness but a bit brighter.

    Beautiful stuff Chris!

I agree with Froch, #3 with a bit more brightness in the red,
    great shots!

I also like the spilled effect and the fact that the photos are so sharp. I like #4 best; you always do such a good job! JustPeachy2

Oh! I cannot believe you gave up on those marbles and light! Really.

These are nice ( pretty in fact) but do not present glass as the main feature to me.

Tom, you are such a spoil sport! Marbles are coming next. I haven't quite figured out the lighting. I'm getting shadows and highlights where I don't want them. And the colors haven't worked out quite right.

If I can pull off the marbles the way that I want them, I'll show them. Other wise, I'm happy with the red hots!

Froch, Karin, Kate, Peachy and Zhousu.... thanks for the feedback. I'm still working on this and will take your sugggestions into consideration. I'm also working with other 'fillers' for the glass.

Yeah...well~I have to be good at something!

Marbles are coming next. I haven't quite figured out the lighting. I'm getting shadows and highlights where I don't want them. And the colors haven't worked out quite right.

I have no idea what this would entail because I haven't tried it...but I can guess with about 30 marbles of standard size and my poor math skills that that would be a LOT of reflective real estate. I like this idea ( skip to the bottom): Link

Tom...spoil sport again! That is exactly how I shot these....light box underneath in a cube with lighting behind. It would've been easier if I'd had the web reference before I reinvented the wheel!

    Thanks for your continued help!
