This guy landed in my backyard this morning, which never happens. I quickly got set up but was only able to get one shot.:barb

What luck you had Dan. Nice looking bird. Did you have him in for lunch? Nice pic.

Well that one shot is great, Dan! Really nice to have him looking back over his shoulder like that, with his eye so bright. I really like it

One shot, but boy it's a beauty. nod.gif

I had an adult Coopers hawk land on my block wall today right outside my office window. We have screen on that side of the house, so I couldn't shoot through it. I knew if I exited the house, he'd be gone in a flash. So the best I could do was just observe him. Ce'st la vie.

Is it a cooper or a redtail?

I'm pretty sure it's a juvenile cooper. It could be a sharp-shinned, but they are very hard to tell apart.

I'd love to have that sort of visitor in my back yard. Awesome, that you were able to get a shot in before he left - and it's a beauty, too.

All we ever seem to get in the back yard are flocks of darned noisy parrots.
    Oh. And ravens.

Send that hawk to my place. The only visitors I've had lately have been squirrels.:yikes

    Good capture.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
