Covering my old high school a lot lately.. They are a 2A school here in Indiana and just successfully beat last years 1A (Bowman) & 2A (Wheeler) champs and are currently undefeated at 8-0. The local newspaper had a tournament this past weekend where schools that don't normally get to play each other were matched up. This was #3 in the state Bowman Academy of Gary vs Bishop Noll.. Really close game, almost as close as the Noll/Wheeler game which went to OT.
Ended up using 3 lights on this one, just to play a bit more than usual, considering my PW Receiver (3rd) was playing nice this night. 2 lights setup at baseline, set to 1/8 power, one with 1/4 CTO gel, the other with nothing. 3rd light was setup at half court pointing back towards the baseline, 1/8 power with full CTO gel. Camera set to 5000K and flashes were approximately 1-1/3 over ambient. Was shooting 1/200 @ 4.5, ISO 2000.

From that game you really can't see any hint of the 3rd light. I'm pretty sure by that point the batteries were spent and I wasn't able to get to the light to change the batteries out before the next game started which is what was posted above. Went the whole night on 1 set of Eneloops in each of my lights (580, 580II and 550 as third at midcourt) So this shot from the first game shows a hint of the warmth (which now looking could had been a 1/2 CTO vs full..)
Anyway, trying to be better with my crops in camera.. Still pull a few in tighter here and there and still get caught on the wrong side of the baseline and ending up with backs of heads, but I think moving in the right direction.. Now if I can just get some of my new equipment in and see what that does for me, I'll be trying a 4 light setup when all the new stuff comes in...
C&C welcome...
Oh.. and this is what happens when you forget your 3rd light is there...

"2 lights setup at baseline, set to 1/8 power, one with 1/4 CTO gel, the other with nothing. "
Where these two lights pointing at the top of the key?
What zoom setting do you use on these two lights?
And one more, do you point them directly at the players or just over their heads?
I'm trying to dial in my settings to get more of a keeper rate.
Thank you for your time.
