Did an little session with a musician last night courtesy of an Established Photg friend.

Justin came in early to set-up and agreed to sit for the members of a local photo guild. The whole thing turned out pretty fun with some Darn good music to boot.

Anyways, Here's my favorite shot from his session with me. One shot, two processing choices. C&C Desired

I can't decide which I like better

I like both, but if I was forced to chose one or the other I'd have to go with the b/w. Excellent picture, either way!

    Black and white.
Color version looks over smoothed and a bit orange....my monitor is crap...so could be wrong :).

b/w. The higher contrast works well...

B&W is nice and edgy but the color has more consumer appeal to me.

If it's a CD cover I would go with the color. Just tone down the golden tones slightly. It evokes a romantic vibe to me. So unless this guy plays heavy metal I think it would work nicely! drums.gif

Here's another vote for color. I actually don't like the B/W conversion and I think it's cus the eye is so dark in the conversion but right in your face in color.
The color looks softer than the B/W but I think that's part of the contrast people were talking about. I'd over lay the color with the b/w and adjust to taste :P
    (but I'm a weirdo :D)

+1. I prefer the color as well but would tone down the gold/orange a little bit.

I'd go for the b&w, BUT... i just hope that you bring some detail back on his right cheek that was lost on the pp. Nice composition, btw. thumb.gif

I prefer the B&W also as I feel the color is off with regards to his skin tones.

on my monitor the B&W version cuts off the tip of his nose, blacks are way dark. that is why i vote color.
