Just the body. Don't even have the battery for it anymore. If you bought that a charger, and an inexpensive 50m lens, it would be a great beginner's camera. Or send it up in a rocket. Whatever.

Pay SH and it's yours. I reserve the right to give to the most interesting/deserving person/project capriciously.

Rutt is the DGRIN Santa! I just got a free 50/17 Minolta lens from him last week that looks like it just came
off the shelf. Thank you so much! Looks great on my A300 and Maxxum 5. :-)

I'm planning to give this a week and then review the emails I get.

If you have either a great story or idea, an interesting proposal, a compelling idea, that's sort of what I'm looking for. Ideally, something I could share here and everyone would feel good about it for a minute or so...

Actually, I think it would be nice if this went to a kid who is enrolled a school photography program but can't afford a decent camera.

In any case, an admirable thing to do!

I've been thinking about this ...

Is there a woman's shelter near you? Shelters have a lot of children .. older kids too that just might be interested in a camera. Kids that have been through a lot need an outlet or something to get them focused. This might just do it ... donate it where an older child can give it a whirl .. learn a new hobby, etc.

Or donate it to the shelter as a whole so they can let older kids that come through there have something to do while there. A distraction from all their going through. Heck even a 10 year old would have fun getting absorbed in taking photos.

There are so many places that would love a camera donated to their organization. Pick one :D

I'll donate money to purchase a lens to make this camera complete.

Not a bad idea, just hope they have computers for the whole process of digital photography

Donating is a nice idea, unfortunately, without a battery or lens, or charger, memory card & reader, this body would be of no use to someone who hasn't the means to put it to good use.

VERY cool thing to do :D I had been shooting with a little Kodak ZD710 P&S for about 2 years...wanted a nicer, more versatile camera, but could not afford even an entry level DSLR.

A good friend upgraded from a 20D to a 50D...and he & his wife decided to send me his old 20D as a gift. Like new, in the the box, with all the software, kit lense, everything! I am loving this camera...I have bought a second lens (75-300mm), and am looking at Canon's basic 50mm wide angle for the next one.

    Good on ya, man thumb.gif

    What a fun idea.
I don't need another camera, and I won't try to sway you to where it goes.
I just think this is a great thing you're doing.
