I have several Boudoir sessions coming and in need of some ideas on poses for women around 50 or so.

I recently did one in this age group and realize posing it totally different than for women in their 20's or so.

Any links, images, or thoughts for inspiration would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thank you..have a great Sunday!

Not sure how much actual posing advice you'll get from it, but Calendar Girls (Helen Mirren, Philip Glenister and a host of other fabulous performers) is a wonderful little film abiut mature women posing nude and may spark some ideas!

Laying down on their front and any shots from rear angles are probably to be avoided.
If shooting from the front you can shoot from a low angle and the upper torse will block the rear....also shooting from above with a large f-stop. Standing is good, use mirrors. Shoot midday use lots of window light brighter the better. Lots of string of pearls and jewelry, hats maybe.
Think of it as a fun dress up day for her rather than a requirement to come up with something sexy....if sexy is there is will shine through. Think laughing bright and fun.

I have not done any of these types of sessions but I am 58 yrs old...perhaps also think in terms of light, gauzy shawls etc, to be used as off the shoulder props and have the sexiness more implied, like women wearing a big men's shirt in white with it falling off a shoulder..this could even be in more of a close up, not full body and making posing less of an issue.

I do many boudoir sessions for the more mature women and I don't shoot them really any differently. They choose lingerie that is less revealing in many cases. One of my favorite sessions, the woman chose all French Lingerie and some of her outfits were easily over $500 - but, they're not public since her husband is high profile.

Although the women I shoot are usually very fit, the use of a chair or even a boa or wardrobe plus angles and makeup are what make these sessions.

A favorite that I did - the woman was 64 years old, had her wearing a black silk nightgown with lace bra top and heels. I had her laying on the bed, ankles crossed and high heels just visible. Cleavage prominent.
We also had an off the shoulder sweater and panties on her knees - face in focus but low dof.

Here is a link to two that I have permission to show. I don't like the heavy makeup, but it was what they asked for. http://www.flashfrozenphotography.com/Portraits/Feminine-and-Fabulous/Ellie/7271777_uNKeY#470420435_QP5u3

Forget about searching around for a way to typecaste these gals. They have probably got more edgy personalities, radical, gritty and individual, than most kids. For sure they ain't gonna be infants. Don't search around for costumes and gimmicks and toys to compensate for their age. To paraphrase Pink Floyd, "They don't need no compensation!"

These gals were teens in the 60s. Do you have any conception what that means? If not before you go shooting any of them immerse yourself in those times. You will be humbled.

No, they don't need no crutches handed to them, and they don't need no playacting parts written for them. You won't find a vacant sign hanging on their necks. Dear Shayebryd, it's you maybe will need some propping up if anyone! Let 'em shine! Hop in. Let 'em take you for a ride down their long, long highway. These stones have been rollin' for a while. It could be heaven or it could be hell!:D
