Secondly -- how much longer until the sun's azimuth puts it more in line with the pier that is reaching out in the water on the right hand side of the image? Having the sun closer to that pier so that it more or less points to the sun could add more visual impact. Right now, my eye goes down the pier and runs out or it goes down the reflection of the sun right to the sun. Speaking in terms of my monitor, if the sun were just an inch to the right (to where it would be just a bit left from the pier, but on a line from the back of the pier that follows the pier), this would (in my opinion) have much more visual impact.
That said, I really like the colors and the reflections off of the metal work and the fact that you fought such cold temperatures for this image. Good job!
Gee - how can a picture look cold and warm yet welcoming at the same time? I really like the rich colors. If I didn't see the snow I would think it summer.
