Lately Ive been enjoying the trial version of Niks HDR Efex Pro.

Today I took a series of long exposure HDR images of one of my favorite spots here on Vancouver Island, Englishman River Falls, just after a snowfall.

No noise reduction has been applied yet, so sorry for the sky.

Great scene. Really nice composition and use of long exposure + HDR thumb.gif
Only nit is the sky has an odd transition from deep blue in the middle to lighter on both sides... was this taken with a polarizer? If not, I'm guessing it's the HDR program

Thanks for the feedback! I did have a polarizer on so it could be a combination of that AND the software.

I also need to clean the sky up for nosie before I send it out for printing.

I can see why this is one of your favorite locations, it is an absolutely beautiful setting. I to love your composition. One way to deal with the sky might be to just make this a B/W since there is very little color in it to begin with. IMHO this HDR treatment has made the image a bit too crunchy for my taste...just too much detail. not sure if you could turn down the structure just a bit. Don't get me wrong it a beautiful image just the way you have it.

    Gorgeous image, Brad! thumb.gif

Were you standing in the water? Or perched on a rock? Either way, it looks like you were cold, but well worth it!

Great shot! Can't get much of a better vantage point than that. Nicely done!
