TX Hill Country Morning - Sunrise & Deer

Here are some shots from earlier this week. We went out to check on the new deer feeder, to see if it worked as scheduled with the sun, and we were greeted with a beautiful sunrise. Lots of deer visited the feeder a bit later and I was able to get a couple of nice shots of some white-tailed does. I liked the backlighting on the deer and the long grass. Alas, my shots of the 8-point buck jumping the fence didn't work out.

C&C always appreciated. Thanks, Lauren

#3 and #4 are winning shots for me! I think the deer feeders are performing well. thumb.gifclap.gifclapclap.gif
Sitting quietly, doing nothing. Spring comes and the grass grows by itself.

Many thanks, ya'll! I have to say that I was really pleased with the result in #3, so I am glad you liked it also. I have several shots of this doe in sequence and the series of them did make me think she looked like she was dancing. :D

    Thank you again.

These are wonderful! That first shot of the deer is fantastic with the light creating a bit of a silhouette.

Craig--Thanks for your kind remark and encouragement. I appreciate you watching my progress. :D

Thanks to everyone for looking and commenting.

Mary--Deer feeders hold corn. Most have an automatic spreader that throws the corn out in a circle and the deer eat it off the ground. Some are mounted on tripods and some hung in trees. Ours is in a tree, with a pulley system to lower and raise it to fill it with new corn. It has a solar timer so the corn is tossed at sunrise and sunset. I don't know what brand ours is but here is a link to show you a pic: http://www.moultriefeeders.com/catalog.aspx?catid=hangingdeerfeeders

How did I miss this set?

I love #1 the red sunrise. The cloud detail is lovely. And I have to agree with everyone else about #3. Crisp, clear and gorgeous. Panther is right - your work has really, really improved. Wow.
