I posted a series in the "Journeys" forum here but I thought I'd share a few that give me a "Street" feel. After all, the canals are their streets ;-)

CC is always welcome. Hope you enjoy them:

I think you missed your calling.
    These are really good.
1 is a drive by photo...that actually works. Could crop some off the bottom.
Love the color and detail in these.

Zoomer... thanks man. I love your work so your compliments are very gratifying.

When you say #1 could use the bottom cropped, is the bit of white water that is distracting? I left the crop like it is because I liked the way our boat framed the photo on the right side and I wanted to keep the aspect ratio as is. I thought about cloning out the white water but left it in.

If it were me I could crop the bottom off just above that white horizontal bar in the boat you are in.
Don't worry about the aspect ratio....make it more of a pano.
The out of focus forground elements that are blurred on the left and above and the boat you are in then form a nice frame for the moving boat which is your subject.
Maybe also look at it with an additional slight crop from the right...to just inside the vertical round bar...maybe not.

Hmm... I played around with your suggestions in my browser... just minimized and used the browser window to try the crop and it does look promising. Will have to actually crop the shot to see for sure. Will post it later.

I really enjoyed the series in showing me a part of the world I've not seen. I find it interesting to see how others live, and from a PJ perspective, I think you've done a fine job of telling that story.

These as well as the "Journeys" set are wonderful. Having encountered your work in the people forum, I am not surprised at your excellent eye for composition. But you also have a knack for "fitting" the people perfectly into the photo.

Now my C & C... First I like a lot, except for the branches/leaves on the left. Not sure if they got in the way or if you intended to use them to frame the shot. Other opinion I have is that the photos are somewhat oversaturated. More people will say they love it (which is why many P&S really boost their pics and people's first DSLR reaction is that their photos are not as good), but I think you might improve them some by experimenting with the saturation level some.

Please keep shooting and posting here!

My favorite is the last one. I wouldn't change the first one--the blur of the branches and the white water all contribute to a feeling a motion, which I think is a good thing. Very nice work. thumb.gif
