Questions on strobes

Hello all,
I remember reading here a thread on strobes but cannot find it anywhere now. I am new to studio lighting, & having a chance to get into architectural photography as I am working at an architecture firm. I got this catalog of equipment rental, but know nothing about the subject. For interior photography, what do I need to know lighting equipment-wise? Is there a specific strobe preferable for this type of shoot? What are the parts assembling a strobe (stand, power pack, etc...)? I hope my question is clear.
Thanks,
Thanks,
karuzo

Here are the search results for a number of threads on strobes of various types.

I think what you want depends largely on how you will light each shoot.
For example, you might want lighting to help eliminate shadows or to help
add contrast. The situation will drive the type of lighting you use.

The short answer is that there is no one light that is prefered over another.
It's really about learning how to light something.

    Good luck!

Sorry about that. If you look at the top most part of the screen, to the right
and nearthe "Welcome back" message, you'll see the word "Search" click on
it and enter the term you want to search for. In this case, "strobes".
