....as an afterthought, you head out at the last minute for a couple quick shots and what you come home with makes it all worth while? Back in October, I grabbed my camera as the sun was headed below the horizon and drove the 2 miles or so over to the local State Park I shoot at often (Old Stone Fort). When I got there, the sun was already below the horizon so just went to the top of the falls at the spillway. Had just snapped off a few, contemplated heading out when all of a sudden, the light changed and a burst of alpenglow changed everything.

minimal processing, gnd in lightroom, saturation boost, sharpening.

and as quickly as it came, it was gone

darkness ensued and I headed home.

I like 1 the most. 2 is also nice. I wish there was a little more "pop" to the colours. You given this a try?

The colors were very muted at that time. 5 minutes earlier there was much more "pop" in the colors and is displayed in the processing (I didn't post those). This is "as I saw it" with regards to how I processed it. Faithful to the moment so to speak. Thank you for the feedback, I will consider a rework in the future.
