[SOAPBOX]I'd love to know the full text on the flag. As much as I deplore the defacing of the American Flag let alone flying it upside down when not in a state of distress, I also accept the fact that what makes our country great is the ability to have free speech such as this. I just don't approve of the medium in this case.[/SOAPBOX]

I love the picture concept and the angle on it. There's a stark contrast of the flag upside down on metal bars I like. I like the guy scratching his head (or at least giving the appearance of that when he might just be pulling on his jacket). Had the person on the left not been there, ie: just the flag/fence and jacketed guy that would have been amazing. Yet I still like what you captured. To me, THAT tells a story. thumb.gif

    Great observations all.
I too was trying very hard to read the text on the flag--doesn't take away from the shot, in fact in might add since I can only get snippets "sterilization of"

I thought the older guy was maybe homeless, then I saw his kerchief on his neck, it almst looks ready to be pulled up and hide his face--he is a distressing addition to the shot, the tense look, his body language in motion. Then the girl looks like she's just reading something on the fence and doesn't sense anything I am.

    Good one Rainbow.

I expected to see him with a stick or something weapon-like to strike along the fence, perhaps ripping the flag. I feel tension in his body language.

    ... I'm still peeling potatoes.

Top line says....United States of American Amnesia...
Interesting photo...for me if taken a couple feet more to the right and half a step later for the person on the left... so the flag could be read, I would like it better.

Thanks! The thought that comes to my mind upon viewing him is 'anarchist'. He can pull the kerchief up anytime to hide his face.

Thanks for the thoughts. I like the text being somewhat indiscernible otherwise the viewers would be reading the text (which might be somewhat rambling/incoherent...) instead of focusing on the picture.

And I definitely prefer the girl on the left as taken to act in juxtaposition to the guy as she is totally unaware/uncaring about the defaced protest flag.
