Frozen Brook

This is a picture of my front yard which has a brook running through it. Seven months ago, a tanker truck spilled over 700 gallons of diesel fuel down into a storm drain that empties into this brook and eventually a river. The state and local DPW, fire dept. and a hazardous waste cleanup company contained the leak, restricted waterflow to the river (before fuel got to it) and filtered all of the water. After 4 months, you would never know there was ever a spill. The felled trees are courtesy of beavers that have returned.

Hi joe-bob and welcome! That's a heartbreaking story but agreed -- I'd never have known there was a hazmat spill here looking at this. Plus, I really like the intense shadows here. Very dramatic.
