Blue Winged Teal can be beautiful

Blue Winged Teal are very common ducks at the Viera Wetlands, and normally look some what dull and dare I say boring. As such, I tend not to pay them much attention, but now and then I will spot some that are showing some beautiful coloration.

    I see what you mean, Ira. They are beautiful. Some of the feathers look green rather than blue. Love the water in the 3rd and 4th shots, too.

    Ducks in the fall are drab coming out of their eclipse plumage. This time of year they are getting their breeding plumage to show off to the girls.
    Blue wings are a treat here in CA
