Sky on Fire - Austin, Texas Jan. 7, 2011

The sky on Jan. 7 in Austin, Texas was setting up for a good sunset. I grabbed my D90 off my desk (with a 55-200 4.5 lens attached) and scurried out to get a vantage point as the sun set. When the fireball dropped behind the horizon, the sky just light up in a blaze of glory. Looked like it was on fire!

As I shot I wished I had my D700, some other lenses and a tripod. Oh well, maybe next week!

The second and third shots are the money for me. Beautiful. Love the silhouetted trees. Amazing shots. Wall hangers for sure brother.

Yep, gotta love those Texas skies! I am from Texas as well and shoot quiet a bit of sunsets. Most people don't believe the colors are real unless they've seen them first hand. Beautiful pics!
