Wow that is really cool! Love the detail and the blur it gives a very nice result.

Very cool shot. Were you using flash? I'm curious about the two front wheels of the car and how you got the effect. I just love the way the pedestrians crossing the street look like some four-legged animal, maybe a deer. Wonderful. clap.gifclap.gif

Thanks... no flash. The car was waiting for the pedestrians to cross. It was briefly stopped in two positions, just long enough to get exposed in each. A bus wizzed by, which is what left the streak of light in the middle and upper part of the frame causing the pedestrians to stop and therefore the car.

We were sitting at the table in the picture below having dinner when I took the shot above. (That's not us, but the previous diners). I noticed the lady vendor just sitting while traffic and people passed by and thought it would make an interesting photo. I propped the camera on the table, stopped the lens down to f/16 to get the star bursts and selected a 1 second shutter speed to get some blur but also get some distinct shapes so you understand what was going on. I had to bump the ISO to 800 to get proper exposure or I would have ended up having to use too long a shutter speed and that would have resulted in just blurred streaks instead of shapes. Ended up being one of my favorites from this night.

WOW... I have to say that this is the nicest comment I think I've ever received on Dgrin. Thank you.

    Well done!

Thanks for sharing the shooting info. I will park it in the back of my mind to try when the opportunity arises (imitation...flattery).

    Really nice work again.
First shot is very creative and such a cool effect.
    Second shot is just right.
The folks in this forum who are not seeing these post from your trip are really missing out.
Why you aren't getting more responses is beyond me, I have seen more response for really bad pictures of a dog :).

Thanks Mike and thank you Reid.

Well, I know how forums tend to have their "clicks" and sometimes, posts from outsiders don't get as many comments, but I was starting to think my photos sucked.

Maybe photos of my dogs will get more hits? headscratch.gif

Alex, you're not an outsider and your photos don't suck. On the contrary, the photos you're sharing are spectacular. You know how people become speechless when in awe? I think the equivalence happens in this case; viewers turn comment-less when they see your wonderful posts. Thanks for sharing.thumb.gif

WOW... thanks Cuong... that's very nice of you.

This genre is outside my comfort zone. I like the photos I've posted and thought they were pretty good but it's always nice to get feedback from the experts.

bowdown.gifWow! What a creative shot - so well executed. There's so much to look at.

    Wow.

This is a wonderful capture. The fact that the double exposure of the wheels and pedestrians was coincidentally caused by the bus going by is witness to the randomness of getting a spectacular shot. It's a bit like the lottery. You don't win if you don't play.

Glad you were playing when you were. Kudos on an outstanding image!clap.gif
