My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon in Hawaii and we had an absolutely fantastic time there. Took lots of photographs and here are some of the better ones that I wanted to share.

1. Sunrise at mount Haleakala (old volcanic crater) on Maui

I hope you guys like the photographs. I'm still learning with my XSI so I'd certainly appreciate any and all comments and critiques :). Sorry if these are too many images for a single thread, I had a really hard time picking my favorites!

Great to see you got a cloud free Haleakala, doesn't happen that often. cool shots. Also I really like #8, this is a great perspective looking through the trees to the falls.

Thanks a lot Doug. Actually, Haleakala was quite cloudy/foggy, but I managed to set my camera up on a tripod and I ended up taking tons of shots with my remote IR shutter release. Got lucky with some of them :). It is an amazing place though.

I like the waterfall too. I like this one too, but my Hitech filters leave a magenta color cast and even after trying to correct for it, the green in the image seems a little too cool and throws it off ne_nau.gif

Great shots! Do you have any through the bamboo forest part of the Waimoku Falls hike?

I love #6. This is not a perspective you see often photographed. Cool.

It's one of the best hikes on the island - in the national park and the trail ends at the base of those falls. There's a great bamboo forest that you walk through along the way, half of it on a raised walkway. I was hoping the OP has some shots of that. I did the hike once, years ago...didn't have a camera with me, but if I did, I seriously doubt I'd be able to get photos on par with these. Love the set.

Great Shots! I'm headed there in June. I can't wait to see Haleakala and all the other amazing sights. Thanks for sharing and getting me super excited about going. Any recommendations that you haven't shared above? I'm interested in the lava shots. I hope I get a chance to see some hot lava.
