Blogging On Smugmug Questions

I'll start off by saying that I am very sorry if I have failed to catch this information somewhere else but I can't seem to find a clean cut, clear answer by searching on here. I have tried several times to do so. I love my Smugmug but I need some help. :dunno
I registered my domain name with GoDaddy: http://bruninphotography.com and redirected it over to Smugmug so both of www and http: work with the domain.
But in doing this I transferred hosting from my GoDaddy account over to Smugmug, I assume. Which I guess means that I can no longer access my FTP structure hosting on GoDaddy and can't host a blog there or on Smugmug without embedding. Am I correct in assuming this or is there a workaround to get through this?
I guess at the end of the day I am fine with running a blog through Smugmug and have set up the skeleton of one at http://www.bruninphotography.com/Other/Blog/15457085_8TdEY but I think that an iframe with an inside scroll bar isn't appealing at all. I can't make the iframe match the size of the content window of the blog, or can I? From what I've researched I don't think I can...hopefully you can prove me wrong.
I want to ultimately have a blog that is setup through my original domain and not use Wordpress or Blogger unless the identity of where those are hosted is hidden by 95%. I am also entertaining the idea of purchasing a separate domain name to just host the blog on but I don't like that idea either because of switching between domain names takes away from the single intent of having the original domain name.
Anyways, as you can see I have many thoughts in my head and have spent quite a bit of time thinking about how this whole process is going to work if I am going to use Smugmug as the main face of my photography website. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Darin

Another alternative is to use Blogger and to match the look of your blog to your smugmug site. If you set up a custom domain at blogger then there doesn't have to be a track of where the blog lives.

I think you are correct...using a subdomain would probably be my best bet but I am not 100% sure how that would work. Do I just create another CNAME entry that would redirect to the blog.bruninphotography.com hosting on my GoDaddy hosting account after I create the subdomain?
It's my ultimate goal to not have bruninphotography.wordpress.com or the same with Blogger as my hosting account. I'd love to have it be just a part of my original domain. Yep, I'd probably use a standalone install of Wordpress that my subdomain would direct the viewer to, if that's possible.
Thanks again for your help,
Darin

I am well on my way now http://blog.bruninphotography.com/
Now it's just time to get down and dirty and match up the blog to my Smugmug site.
Thanks again,
Darin
PS...I think it's awesome how quickly questions get answered here :-)
It seems that sometimes it loads and sometimes doesn't. Trying to get it figured out.
Thanks!
