hiya sportsters :wave thought i'd share some fun soccer pics. all shot with 1Ds Mark II, 200 f/2.8L on board. shot under extremely bright midday sun, i set the camera to av mode, iso 100, and -1/3 ec.

two hours of practice on saturday. it's all in the tongue!

trevor was put in the goal for the first half- and this action occurred in the first thirty seconds, i think he was a tad surprised! (he saved the goal).

love the last two , real keepers.....
ok, while u were shooting under Av mode I was shooting under sports ( action mode ) using canon 20D and switiching between the 70-200 L and 300 mm L under the same harsh conditions, maybe worse ( i was shooting at 1:45 )
this year the goals are farther apart and because of the suns placement, im shooting behing the goal line... im amazed that i could even "reach" the players... they were quite far off in the distance.....

so.... why do u prefer the Av mode in comparison to sports mode? is it beacuse you cant shoot Raw ? cant change EC ? is the AI Servo too inaccurate??

dozer, your first shot is a keeper--love the player's positioning on that one.

The magic of photography is capturing moments or facial expressions. The third pic is priceless...... "ah come on ref, he dived"rolleyes1.gif , you see the same expressions and gestures in the premier league,

    Great pics andythumb.gif

    Great shots Andy thumb.gifthumb.gif

Damn, Trev looks like a minature Andy (very minature) lol3.giflol3.gif And don't hassle the boy about his tongue being out when he's concentrating on the pitch. Michael Jordan did pretty well for himself using the same technique :):
