I just want to share something...

Long story short, my canon 50mm 1.8 mkII got stuck on my 450D about 4 months ago. Since there is no camera service center or repair shop in our city, I just completely forgot about it. Until yesterday when I did research and I decided to use some force.:huh
After a few tries, the plastic mount finally gave way. The lens is now in the trash but the body is alive!:barb
Canon 7D, 450D, 50mm 1.8, 50mm 1.2, Mp-e 65mm, 70-200mm f/2.8L USM, 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM, Canon 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM, 580exII, some sigma lenses:D

Did you find out why the lens stuck?

You might save the 50mm lens and see if you have any application for reversing the lens in front of another lens for macro photography. (Unless the rear element was destroyed.)

I did not find out why but i suspect that a screw came loose.
I read your comment too late. It's probably gone now...
