Focus and sharpness

I have posted two photos of the F16 and Racing car and I would like to hear your comments if the object is in focus and sharp. The camera used olympus E500 with zuiko 40-150 lens. You are welcome to visit my website

The posted f-16 is a nice shot. But it looks heavily cropped with a distinct loss of detail. Do you have the original, uncropped photo you could display?

I think you misunderstood. I don't want full size, I meant the image BEFORE you edited it - i.e. how was the shot framed in-camera before you cropped it.

Yes you are right, I cropped the photo by 20% and it is sharp.

I'm looking at it on a not-so-great laptop monitor, but it does look like the detail is missing. Could be my monitor; could be compression. The plane also looks very close for a 150mm lens and 20% crop. Here's a shot taken at 400mm and probably a 60% crop:

It also could be something funky with the compression trails around the plane. Here's a shot in which some bizarre blurring occurs at the trailing edges of the wings:
