I was just cruising through the past exercise threads and 'best of 2009/10 threads and thinking I'd love to do another. I've got the January blues and need some forced discipline :wink. How about another exercise to get the creative juices flowing? :clap I think they froze during the last snow fall. :dunno

I'm game. How about one I suggested previously, but we did another Thanksgiving round instead:
Here's a suggestion: Action: Get a shot of people doing something. Hint: sitting on a bench reading a newspaper or playing chess does not count, and neither does just walking down the street. It should convey movement or energy of some sort.

Okay, I like Richard's suggestion, or...I want a well composed, meaningful image of a total stranger taken from less than 10 feet away - from the front. :ivar:ivar (By meaningful I mean that this shouldn't be a from the hip grab shot that simply says 'person walking toward me.' Give us an image that says something.)

    So either of these....Richard? Thoughts?

Isn't that a rerun of the first exercise? I'd rather do something new. I'll write up something later tonight or tomorrow morning and post it.

Well, yes...but every week the students in my classes do a variation on this, in addition to the rest of their work. So what's your point? That people are so good at it they don't need the practice?:D

I agree that repeating exercises is rewarding. That's why in the forum sticky I encourage people to do them and post, even after the original time period has elapsed. But I also think that variety is the spice of life. deal.gif

Patience, Tina. The idea is that people go out and take new pics to meet the theme, not post stuff from their archives. That can take a while, which is why there's a two week deadline. In the meantime, you've given us a nice example. thumb.gif
