Raptor Show...

Went to the Hawkwatch weekend at the Audubon Center in Greenwich Connecticut yesterday. The count for the day by the time I left was over 600 sightings of migrating raptors of all kinds, including a couple of bald eagles.

These pics were from a traveling show of birds that were injured or otherwise rescued and generally unable to return to the wild. My kids greatly enjoyed the show...

Regards...Keith

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Took my two youngest (8 and 11) and they were amazed to be so close to these big birds - plus they got ice cream - so they were very happy. Frankly, I was pretty amazed too. Also, when he allowed one of the hawks a brief flight - he promptly flew off and they had to follow the transceiver around his neck with a chase car. More amazing, although I didn't have the lens for it, was the "kettle" of migrating hawks that flew way, way, way overhead - about 100 at once - riding the thermals south. Have a few other shots - maybe i'll post 'em tonight if I have time.

    Regards...Keith
