The theme of this exercise is action. The only limitation is that the image should convey motion or energy. How you do that is entirely up to you. Post your results, comments and insights in this thread. Let's try to wrap it up by Feb. 6.

On your marks, get set...:wink

The title should be L.A. but I couldn't change it.

Very LaLa, Tina!:D For me what makes this photo interesting is an element almost invisible upon first glance, and that's the women in the car. Without her the photo is certainly bright, and it conveys motion. But then what? The what is that little round head on the right sticking up over the door, and her surveying the scene. Very nice. And welcome back. clap.gifclap

Thanks, Rainbow! It's one of my favorites, too.

I take a lot of pictures of kids, mostly those that I know well, while they are playing or reading or whatever they do -- kids in the wild as it were, not posed.

Does that count as street/PJ? Or is it people?

It probably straddles the two depending on whether the "environment"/setting gives it a context or if it is just the person that could be anywhere...

Very well done. I have to think of slowing the shutter speed down to play with shots like these.

Well, this turned out to be harder than I thought. I mean, sure, one can get motion blur easily enough but that's not enough to make an image interesting. Maybe it's just that I've been in a winter slump, but with all the energy that's out there, I just wasn't seeing it. Anyway, here are the two that sucked the least:

    1180435304_wvD9n-XL.jpg

    1180434695_NHZZK-XL.jpg

On the brighter side, I did learn a lot about shooting in shutter priority mode. :D

Thanks.... Shooting the film body in a lot of ways forces me to think about those kinds of things again.

I totally missed it. I just couldn't find anything worth pressing the shutter.
