Thought I would share my great news.
Last week I was announced as the 'Pet Photographer of the Year 2010' at the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers annual awards ceremony in London. I am absolutely delighted to have won the award :barb
Here is the winning image.
And my other shortlisted image.
To celebrate, I am running a Caption Competition for this image of the 'star' model and the award :lust

Would love to hear a tip or two you might have for others on how to get such great photos of dogs. My camera's meter goes nuts when I try to photograph a black lab against a black background.
MileHighAko, the best and simplest way to expose for any subject is to use a light meter In this case using off camera flash. Once you shoot a few scenes you get feeling for the settings needed on the flash vs. distance from subject to get the right exposure.
