OK so maybe that title doesn't apply to this, but I thought it was catchy. :dunno

This is a set of photos I took with my girlfriend that I really like despite their simplicity. I know that black and white can be overdone, but I just love these photos and felt compelled to share.

D300s, 35mm f/1.8G
the first 2 were done with no flash, the rest were with an SB-800 off camera and a small soft box.

I like the first one best.
There's some pretty cool B&W's in the set too but I see you have the same issue I have with pupil dilation. They are so big because of the amount of light available between flash that you can't see much of the iris.....

    I really, really like #2 and #3.

    Something about the expression.

    Well done!

3&5 are the best ....on some of the others I just don't like the exposure so pushed that the lips and nose definition is lost..
Well, I guess you would call me... genus, humanus... Alice.

Like 1,3,7. In #1, I would crop off the spray bottle on the far left, maybe even go square crop.

Interesting. I prefer the larger pupils.

I know what you mean. I was experimenting with different flash powers the whole time so they are a bit inconsistent
